Like MOST government programs, it was founded with good intentions. Like ALL government programs, it became more corrupt than the evils it was fighting. Time to re-invent it, perhaps.
Exactly. Repair but don't get rid of it. Unfortunately it was the billionaire industrialists that caused major pollution sites like the above, and they are now running the government.

ReplyDeleteIt's a long way from taking care of things like the photo above, and trying to take charge of the watering hole on a farmer's land...

The Gold King was a major mistake for sure, but I believe the ban on recreational use of the river only lasted about two weeks.
