The beavers are back

As soon as things calmed down with the dam repair they moved back in. I set a camera up to watch them re-build this one. They had just started to build it on the overflow ditch. I should get some photos of them if they don't incorporate my camera into the dam.

                                                                     I removed it:

It will probably be back tomorrow. Time to set up some traps and get started making felt for my new fedora.

  1. Their tails are worth $20 each here.

    1. Hmmmm, $20.00/tail, $40.00/pelt, maybe some beaver jerky as a bonus.
What do they use them for? I hear the tails are pretty greasy. Probably good for boots.

  2. As far as I know the tails are thrown away after the bounty is collected. The municipality pays since we are so overpopulated with beavers here that they are regarded as a pest.
